It will truly be a “Christmas to Remember” for approximately 550 of the most needy children served by the Boys and Girls Club throughout Northwest Indiana.
In additional to serving the the City of Hobart’s 5th District as Councilman, John Brezik is also active in organizations that enhance the quality of life for everyone in the region and proudly served as part of the executive committee for this special event.
A certain number of children from each club were selected, approximately 550 total. Each child had a wish list of presents and those wishes came true as best as possible.
In addition to gifts for the children, a special meal was planned during the event, but the children were also able to take home Christmas dinner provided to the family including a ham and all the fixings for Christmas day.
More than $60,000 was raised to provide for the hundreds of children and their families. Donations came from individuals and corporations throughout Northwest Indiana.
The intention is for the event to become a yearly tradition and the next event is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 12, 2019.
