Congressman Pete Visclosky was the keynote speaker a a special event signifying the conclusion of Hobart’s Neighborhood Spotlight initiative taking place at the Hobart YMCA. The special event involved residents approving a plan aimed at bolstering the city’s northwest side by improving its housing stock and infrastructure, spurring new businesses there, stimulating community involvement, helping people find new careers and highlighting its natural areas.
City Councilman John Brezik of Hobart’s 5th District explained, “This is just the beginning of a concrete movement of what we need to get done on the northwest side. What does or doesn’t happen there eventually affects the rest of the city.”
