City Councilman John Brezik of the 5th District was among the leaders moving the city forward during a joint study session between the City Council, Stormwater/Sanitary Board, Board of Public Works and Safety and Redevelopment Commission. During the join study session projects were outlined to control waste and storm water and flooding, satisfy a state requirement and help spur development from an upcoming $15.5 million bond.

Among the projects it was noted about $5 million would be used for storm sewers in the northwest portion of the city, encompassing Hillman Heights and the proposed and long-stalled Cressmoor planned unit development.
